Real Passport Experience in Pakistan for Umrah – What Documents You Actually Need

The purpose of this blog post is to clear the confusion and misinformation that’s commonly found online regarding passport applications for Umrah in Pakistan, especially when applying for children and infants.

If you’re planning to visit your nearest passport office, this guide will walk you through a real, recent experience of applying for passports for my whole family, including two very young siblings (2.5 years old and just 2 months old!).

Step 1: Generate PSID Before Visiting the Passport Office

Before heading to the passport office, the first step is to pay your passport fee online using the ASAN Passport Fee App, available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This saves you from long lines at the bank.

Here’s what to do:

  • Select your passport type (Normal, Urgent, or Fast Track)
  • Fill the required details
  • Generate your PSID (Payment Slip ID)
  • Pay the fee using Easypaisa, JazzCash, a bank app, or an ATM
  • Keep a screenshot or print of the paid voucher

Without this step, you may be asked to go back and pay through a bank manually, wasting time and effort.

In case the applicant is a widow case of a married woman, both the Marriage Certificate and the Husband’s Death Certificate must be attached.

In case of Orphans must include the death certificate of the relavent member, father or mother.

Biometrics, Photos & Fingerprints – What Happens On Site

Once the documents are verified and accepted:

  • The staff takes your photograph on the spot
  • Fingerprints are collected for adults and older children
  • Infants and toddlers are exempt from fingerprinting
  • Staff was polite, cooperative, and the process moved steadily

No need to bring physical photos or get any documents attested beforehand (except the attestation forms for underage siblings which they provide at the office).

Passport Delivery Timelines

The delivery time depends on the type of passport service you choose:

  • Normal 10–15 working days
  • Urgent 5 working days
  • Fast Track 2–3 working days

These timelines are also printed on the fee voucher.

Quick Tips for a Smooth Passport Process
